La Montaña Camp
We arrived to San Ramon and then the middle of nowhere by bus on the afternoon of May 23rd.
La Montaña Camp is a gorgeous Christian camp where they hold conferences and camps. Our team was there to serve as camp staff/camp counselors for the weekend campers.
One day I was assigned to help serve dinner, as well as wash and dry hundreds of plates, cups, and silverware. Another day, I was assigned to the Hospitality team. This meant I walked around with Sandrita, one of the cleaning staff, all over the camp cleaning bathrooms. I received a crash course in deep cleaning that day. I’m used to cleaning at home or wherever, but we deep cleaned/sanitized toilets, showers, sinks, and floors that day. I also had the opportunity to practice my Spanish while working alongside Sandrita, so overall it was a great day.
We were at La Montaña Camp from Thursday to Sunday. It was short, but we fulfilled our time to serve them for the weekend. Sunday afternoon, the 26th, we left the camp to head back to San Jose.
