I am humbled, excited, and expectant for what God will do in me and through me over these next few months as I prepare for the World Race. The World Race is an 11 month missions trip to 11 different countries. Join me as I seek to do the Lord’s will for my life and step into what He is calling me to at this time.
Here are just a few things about me:
I am Sharon, 32 years old, a New Yorker, and a marathon runner!
I am the youngest and only girl in my immediate family. I am an aunt to 4 wonderful nephews. I have a Yorkie named Kenna who I adopted when she was 3 months old. She is 11 years old now and thinking about leaving my dog for the World Race gives me knots in my stomach, but I know God is calling me to leave all (even my Kenna).
Although I grew up going to church every week, multiple times per week, I have a lot of head knowledge about Jesus and the Bible, but it was not until I was 19 years old that I was saved and surrendered my life to Jesus. That day, I will never forget and I will never be the same. Maybe one day soon I will write a blog post specifically about my salvation experience.
Random Facts about me!
Some of my favorite memories from childhood include: visiting my Nana in the Bronx and going outside to the ice cream truck when it stopped outside her building, being surprised with an American girl doll (Addy) for my 9th birthday, and listening to the kids program Adventures in Odyssey.
My first trip abroad without my parents was to the UK in college with my Art History class. We studied the art history and then visited various places such as Bodiam Castle and Windsor Castle, etc.
My favorite class in graduate school was a Social Work class with a travel component where we had the opportunity to collaborate with students at 2 universities in Israel. At the end of the semester, we traveled to Israel to present our research with them.
