I pray that before this next part that God would give you discernment, so you do not take what I say lightly or offensively. So the answered prayer regarding no fear of the darkness…
3 families I encountered today each had one child that was physically and mentally struggling. I had asked God for discernment in these situations to show me what was needed. The Holy Spirit showed me that in these specific cases, there was demon oppression or possession. I know that sounds scary but remember that if you are in Jesus, you have nothing to fear. He has give us the authority to cast them out in His name and they cannot overpower us. See Luke 4:32, 4:36, 5:17, 9:1-2, 10:19-20, and 11:13. Also Mark 16:15-18.
In one particular case, the son was normal, went to a bigger city to work, and when he came back he wasn’t. The mother said that she can’t sleep in the night anymore because her son stays awake screaming and shouting horrific things. When I asked the translator if the people there believe demons exist, the mother interjected saying yes because she recognized the word “demon.” She knew without hesitation that was what had overtaken her son. Praying over that family gave me such a peace because Jesus has more power and authority than any tiny bit of darkness. The darkness has to flee in His presence. I don’t have an answer for what happened in that man, but I do know the presence of God was there through His Holy Spirit, and it was amazing.
A second case allowed me to see more of the war between spirits. I saw a beautiful girl desiring to be near the Holy Spirit, and I saw her fighting against darkness. One second, she would jump around dancing with happiness because we came. The next moment, she would crouch down and plug her ears while rocking back and forth. I believe she was trying to drown out voices that we couldn’t hear. Jesus gave me such compassion for her, not to be afraid, but to see a little girl in turmoil.
At one point, she refused to sit in any chair other than mine. She sat on the arm of the chair and leaned against me. This was right after I had prayed for the previous family. When they tried to get her to sit somewhere else, she began kicking and refusing. She was fighting for Life. The Holy Spirit told me that she knew I had been with Jesus, that He lived in me. She saw something more than just a foreign woman; she saw the heart of Jesus. When this wisdom was revealed to me, I cannot explain the love Jesus poured out through me for this girl. She knew.
My team leader Emily was with me, but she and I went to separate houses in the community. Upon sharing stories from the day, we encountered very different commonalities. God didn’t lead her to houses with situations such as these. That really comfirmed that God wanted me to see those houses for a reason. He gave me such peace through the entire day in regards to darkness; He comforted me in His power. I know this was Him answering my prayer to eliminate fear. What an amazing God that He truly answers.
If you’re skeptical, I pray that God would give you that wisdom. I used to be terrified or hesitant to believe “stories” like this, but let me tell you, Jesus is working on my heart. He is showing me the authority that I have through Him and that with Him, all things are possible. He has answered my prayers more than I could ever express. The spiritual realm is very alive and moving. Demons seek to devour just as their leader Satan does [1 Peter 5:8-9], BUT Jesus has complete power over them. He fights for His children, so we have nothing to fear. AMEN.
