If you know that Japan is called the Land of the Rising Sun then you’d think….”She made a typo.” but nope. No typo here. Our first week in Osaka, Japan, someone on my squad professed that instead of being the Land of the Rising Sun, God is doing and will do such great things in Japan that it is the Land of the Rising SON. God’s only Son, Jesus, is stirring up something amazing there and His love, joy, and peace are rising over Japan.
It was an awesome, refreshing month of ministry and here’s a little recap of it!
Everyday, half of our group worked in a bilingual, Christian pre-school that taught the children Bible stories and values, allowed them to lead prayer, and sang the cutest Christian kids songs! We had a great time with them.
The other half of the group would go out on Treasure Hunts (see previous blog for a description) and love on the Japanese people. This is a couple that we met on our first day out. It was a blessing to just sit and talk with them about our lives.
Our hosts in Japan were an amazing man of God named Jef and the local believers there in Japan. We were very blessed by their willingness to host us in their homes, pray over us, speak truth, and simply love on us. This photo is from a night of worship and prayer that we had with them.
During the month, I lived with this wonderful host family. They were non-Christians and part of our ministry was to love on and encourage them, but they were so hospitable and loving that we were ministered to just as much as them. They will forever hold a special place in our hearts as our Japanese family!
