So….wow. where to start.

Guatemala is gorgeous.  It's full of color and life.

We came to Guatemala in the rainy/cold season which has been full of experiements of how to stay warm and dry every night in our tents.Thankully, on the world race, one of the things you can count on is not doing things alone.
Aka I share a tent with two other girls so we can stay warm and sleep through the night. 🙂 (thanks,Sage and Amanda!)

just another example of the lovely community we have out here~ good friends make sure you don't leave the house with boogs.

Our ministry the first week was prison ministry.  We painted the room the women guards sleep in.  We had the opportunity to paint bible verses and truths about God in spainish on the walls.  We left a flower for the one that was living there that week and she put it in a vase and left her bible open to what she was reading that morning. That was pretty cool to see.  Then we got to play soccer with the prision guards!  We totes won. Take that stereotypes! Ok so they were for sure taking it easy on us and we were playing our hearts out but we totes won. AND I scored my first soccer goal eva!

(this is the entrance to the prison)
The last day we were there Jake (teamate) preached and all the girls lead worship.  Some more teams came with us and prayed around them while the gospel was being shared.  7 men came to Christ that day!  SUCH A FREAKIN BLESSING TO WITNESS!
Right after this a few guys got to wash the feet of the prisoners right after they made this decision to follow Jesus. (John 13:1-17) 🙂

I find this place so beautiful.

Our living isn't always the "safest" or most comfortable but boy do we get to know each other.

We have been wrecked.  We have been sharing our insecurities, struggles, lies we believe.  We get down to our dirty secret dark parts of each others hearts so we can up lift each other.  We can hold each other accountable. We remind each other of how we are wonderfully and fearfully made (psalm 139:14).
We remind each other not to compare ourselves to each other.  We all have different strengths and weaknesses. We are made to do something no one else can do like us because God made us this way. (1 Corinthians 12:12)

p.s. this is a video one of my squadmates made. it was our launch (getting ready to leave) a lot of my team is on it so I wanted to share.  (thanks, jen and josh! great video)
(oh and I stole all these pictures from teammates-mostly, micah~ thanks!)
