Well, it’s been a while since I wrote a blog. It’s also been a while since I came home from Gap Year and I still think about it every day. Colombia, Ecuador, Thailand, Cambodia, Turkey, Albania, Montenegro – they all became home to me.
Yet, as the year and a half passed since coming home until now, something has been missing: AFRICA. I was able to see the pain and need in other parts of the world, but for some reason God keeps putting Africa on my heart and I know I’m meant to serve here, specifically Ghana.
God has called on me and my love of missions and I have been given the chance to serve this upcoming month of June in Ghana! I will be graduating from Penn State in May and am intending to begin my dream job of NICU or Pediatric Oncology nursing in September, so I am unbelievably excited to be called to serve in Ghana and to be able to spend an entire month doing what I love with my last summer!
I don’t know when I’ll have another chance to do something such as Gap Year, or this trip, so I am taking full advantage. I am asking and praying HARD for your prayers and financial support in order to be able to do this.
I cannot express enough how thankful I am for your support in the past. It has given me opportunities of a lifetime to spread the word of God and love people that have never felt loved. I pray that I am able to do this again through your donations and prayers.
Love,
Shannon
