So I’m back at it again…Round Three of the World Race! This time I’m an Alumni Team Leader, which means I get to do life in close quarters with 5 amazing women for the next four months. So, here they are!

Anna is sweet and kind and is from Austin, Texas, my favorite city in the world. She has a quietness that demands to be heard, and her empathy will allow for each member of our team to feel cared for when we need it most. She is also the story leader for our team…getting everyone excited about sharing stories about what god is doing out here.

Ashley is smart. She’s inquisitive and I get this feeling that she wants to understand the big picture, and will question and seek until she gets it. I LOVE that because I KNOW the Lord is going to paint her such a unique, personal picture for her this year. She is the squad’s Beauty for Ashes coordinator, a program focused on showing women specifically that their stories are beautiful and they matter.

Fei is our team treasurer! Which is wonderful because she has already loved us so well during our first grocery run. She remembered every allergy and bought vegetarian friendly meals! I already love her direct, straight forward, get it done attitude, and am so grateful to have another Californian with me!

Melissa comes from Nashville, and I haven’t told her yet, but I’m obsessed with her sweet Tennessee accent. Seriously, I’ve already thought about calling her after the Race just to hear her talk. I see a hunger in her that inspires me. She’s our squad’s logistics coordinator…THANK GOD…so she’s be handling long distance travel, debriefs and lodging as we move from country to country.

Victoria. I don’t think I can put this girl into words. She’d just get mad at being two dimensional and jump off the page right into your arms. She’s spunky and fun and not afraid to be awkward to put you in your place. Her energy has made me feel so seen already…she’s one of those girls who you just can’t help but want to be around. She’s our squad’s worship leader. She doesn’t sing or play an instrument. But dude. God is going to teach this squad to worship in so many new and different ways through her!!

As a whole, I see strength in this team. I see wisdom in this team. I see initiative and potential for really great friendship (which I’ve been praying for all month) in this team. I am so excited to do life this closely with these five women. And each time I feel nervous, the Lord reminds me to look at who he is and what he’s doing. He points me back to his heart, and tells me to get to know the hearts of the women closest to me. And I couldn’t feel more honored to be walking into this next season.

I am still in the process of fundraising for this next season. If you’d like to donate, please click the “donate” link at the top of the page. Or, if you would like to help me with additional expenses, you can do so here: https://www.youcaring.com/shannonmonaghan-1059767
