Month 10 is here! Wow! We are officially off the continent of Africa and I miss it already but the Lord is doing great things here in Haiti!
The first week we were here we had the privilege of working with a group of nurses, doctors, and dentists that put on a traveling clinic. We hit the ground with our feet running the day after we arrived – we helped to work the clinics by distributing meds, toiletry kits, and interceding in prayer during the gospel presentations.
The Haitians arrive and before making their way into the clinic area they must sit down and listen to the gospel. This creates an awesome opportunity for them to get access to free medical care but hear the more life giving message of Jesus. We have 47 patients give their lives to the Lord last week! Praise God! He is clearly going before us and laying conviction on peoples hearts, it is a beautiful thing to see that conviction come full circle.
We got to know the team of 19 that was here our first week and it was such a sweet time of fellowship! It’s always beautiful to sit back and watch how the Lord orchestrates things around us for our benefit and His glory! We got to pour into the people that were on the short term team and they got to do the same for us. One of them even calls me her Haitian daughter now – hehe – it was a beautiful season and we are so thankful for it.
We are looking forward to the rest of our month here in Haiti as we continue to do various work with the mission house here and one of the local orphanages.
