Hello! Welcome to my blog!

My name is Shannon Roediger and I’m a small town girl from New Bremen, Ohio with the desire to Radiate Hope to the world around me by sharing God’s everlasting and redemptive love for his people.

I grew up on a farm with cows and chickens, and parents that brought me up in the church. My favorite childhood memories consist of carrying cats around with me everywhere, swimming in my grandparent’s pond, walking around barefoot, and chasing cows that got out of the pins.

I recently graduated from Indiana Wesleyan with a degree in Adolescent Ministry. As a junior in high school, I felt very broken. I questioned if my life really mattered, and if I had any purpose. It was Christ who came and saved me from the hopelessness that I felt. It was during this time that I discovered that I no longer had to walk alone. That Christ was with me, and the he loved me so much. I would say that during this time I started to understood what it meant to truly be a follower of Christ. I grew up knowing and believing in Christ, but this was a time in my life where I started having more of a personal relationship with Christ. I learned his forgiveness for all the wrongs I made, and I started learning walking in the grace and redemption that God offered me. During my time of healing, I felt God calling me to go to school to earn a degree that would allow me to work with teenagers. I have a passion for working with broken youth and sharing the hope and redemption that Christ gives us. The hope and redemption that I also received. Christ Rescued me, and he set me free.. and for that, I am forever thankful.

During my sophomore-going-into-junior year of college, I had the awesome privileged of going to Gabon, Africa. During this time, I helped with a widows sewing ministry, spent time playing with the orphans, and helping with construction of a new orphanage. The people of Gabon were so relational and loving in the 10 short days I was there. Going home was hard, because I fell in love with the people of Gabon. It was during this time that I discovered my passion and love for missions. A passion for serving God’s people and sharing his love.

I am very excited for the opportunity that I have to go on the WorldRace. I know that God has called me to life of ministry. In the future I know I’ll be working as a youth pastor, but right now I feel God calling me on this journey. A journey that will open my eyes to the things unseen. A journey that will allow me to learn more about myself. A journey that will allow me to serve God’s people and a journey that will teach me how share the Gospel to God’s people. Yes this experience will allow me to see the World and adventure it, but it’s more than that to me. To me, this experience is Adventure with God. and to me, that the BEST KIND OF ADVENTURE. I’m so excited for what is to come and how God will shape me during this journey, and as I prepare for it.

Thanks for reading! Please consider supporting me and following me during my journey on the WorldRace. Thank you, and God bless.
