We started our journey on the Golden River at 4 in the morning. Myself and a few others hopped on a motorbike with our Big packs and drove to the start of our hike. The sun was coming up, and the mist was flowing though all the tree’s. Once we all arrived we were told that the Rivers were really high, but that was the only way our guides could go. So we started off, the first river was a piece of cake. But that was one of 14. It was so breathtaking! I found myself loving every second of it! Honestly every time I hiked in the past I hated it. 14 rivers can change you! The guys on my team were amazing! they carried our packs across when it was to deep for us girls.
Once we made it to our village of maybe 20 houses, one church, and one school (2 rooms finished and 1 room half way done) we were shown our task. We had to carry bags of sand and small rocks from the river bank 300 meters and dump them on tin sheets. So then the next day we could assembly line all of it up a slippery steep hill that lead to the school. After so many steep hills It really made you thankful for a nice flat walk!. The one thing I took away form this month was going to work with a good attitude. All of us were tired, sore, and usually hungry. But seeing those kids everyday and listening to them learning and hearing about christ was something I’ll never forget!
Our team just found out we’ll be working with sex trafficking and village ministry for out next month in Thailand. I’m so excited to see what God does through this.
My Next and final deadline for me to be fully funded is on New Years. If you feel lead to give I still have a bit to go till I’m all the way at 15,500.
Thanks for reading and God bless!
