So I’ve been stuck on KLOVE for awhile now and this song (see below) keeps hitting me every time I hear it. As believers, it is SO important for us to speak life and truth to others. Our words have the power to heal, to hurt, to cast out demons (in Jesus’ name), and so much more. So much of the time we don’t realize what we’re saying or take the time to think through what we’re saying.

One of the things I loved about Training Camp was the encouraging words, the truth we heard. It was so beautiful & it created such a beautiful atmosphere. I don’t want that to be limited to what I did at Training Camp. Or to what I do on the race. I want this to be everyday life. I want to choose my words wisely and use them to encourage.

How about you? How do you use your words? How have words been used with you? How would you & your relationships be different if you became more intentional with your words?

Now, believe me, this isn’t always easy. God’s teaching me to bring this to Him daily, because I don’t always want to be nice. I don’t always want to be gracious. Some mornings, I don’t feel like I’ve had enough coffee (or that there’s enough coffee in this world) for what I need to deal with. But thankfully, we don’t have to do it all. Those days when we are struggling minute to minute (*ahem* *Monday* #couldvebawledmyeyesoutallday) just to get through- His grace is sufficient. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. He brings those kind words to mind. He gives us strength to push through. He gives us eyes to see needs. He gives us a heart for the brokenhearted.

So, without further ado, here are the lyrics to the song:

Some days, life feels perfect.
Other days it just aint workin.
The good, the bad, the right, the wrong
And everything in between.

Its crazy, amazing
We can turn a heart with the words we say.
Mountains crumble with every syllable.
Hope can live or die

So speak Life, speak Life.
To the deadest darkest night.
Speak life, speak Life.
When the sun wont shine and you dont know why.
Look into the eyes of the brokenhearted;
Watch them come alive as soon as you speak hope,
You speak love, you speak…
You speak Life,(oh oh oh oh oh oh) You speak Life. (oh oh oh oh oh oh)

Some days the tongue gets twisted;
Other days my thoughts just fall apart.
I do, I dont, I will, I wont,
Its like I’m drowning in the deep.

Well it crazy to imagine,
Words from our lips as the arms of compassion,
Mountains crumble with every syllable.
Hope can live or die.

So speak Life, speak Life.
To the deadest darkest night.
Speak life, speak Life.
When the sun wont shine and you dont know why.
Look into the eyes of the brokenhearted;
Watch them come alive as soon as you speak hope,
You speak love, you speak…
You speak Life,(oh oh oh oh oh oh) You speak Life. (oh oh oh oh oh oh)

Lift your head a little higher,
Spread the love like fire,
Hope will fall like rain,
When you speak life with the words you say.

Raise your thoughts a little higher,
Use your words to inspire,
Joy will fall like rain,
When you speak life with the things you say

I hope it encourages you as much as it continues to encourage me. And if you’re more of a audio/visual learner, here’s the video:
