This month- this whole month- I have been falling in love. I didn’t think it was possible, but I am so in love…

with what God is doing…

Unsung Heroes ministry has been so incredible. So many new friends, so many possible contacts for future racers, and so much Kingdom work is going on in El Salvador. Let me just tell you about a few of my new loves.

ENLACE-ENLACE is an incredible organization that partners with communities to accomplish goals. So what happens is ENLACE partners with a church in a community. ENLACE connects them with community leaders and then helps the community figure out what they need. It’s not what ENLACE thinks the community needs, but what the community identifies as a need. Once a goal is identified, a team from ENLACE begins training the leaders of the church and the community how to accomplish the goal. They team works with them until the goal is complete, whether it’s a clinic, water purification systems, or other things. The thing I love best about this organization is that they partner with and educate communities. They show these communities what they’re capable of- from fundraising for projects to completing projects. They want to educate so that the communities/churches can turn around and help more people. I. Love. It.

Castillo del Rey (King’s Castle)– This place is awesome y’all! I had the pleasure of visiting King’s Castle for a couple days with a few team members & they are doing some great things for the Kingdom there!. Their focus is evangelism- first and foremost. When teams come in, the first thing they do is spend the first day in training. They teach the team songs/dances and skits. We got to see a team in training and to be honest, I wanted to train to. The dancing is so joyful & looks a little like Christian Zumba. The skit a team did was beautiful. Once they train teams, they send them out to the streets. They go to parks and public areas, then they invite kids. They perform the dances & skits. Then they get to tell them about Jesus. It’s so cool.

They a couple other things/programs at King’s Castle that are just as centered on telling others about Jesus. If you ever get the chance to visit King’s Castle- take it. You won’t be sorry.

And last, but not least…

The Neppers- This family is so sweet. Kathy & David, along with their 4 children, are so kind and humble. They do a couple different things, but my favorite is how they’re transforming their community. They teach English classes (a couple different levels based on skills). They give the people in their community an opportunity to advance, to grow, and to learn. By being in their neighborhood, God has used them to change the atmosphere there. They live in an area between 2 gangs. When they moved in, people would not go outside after dark. People were more reserved and hesitant. But God has used this family to draw the neighborhood together. They plan on hosting a youth event this summer, with hopes that it will bring the neighborhood even closer together. It’s really beautiful how God uses His people to reclaim what was torn and broken. I can’t wait to hear what God continues to do through the Neppers.

There is no way I can tell you about all the amazing people I’ve met this month. Or the ministries. Or the people these ministries are touching. I wish you could see it for yourself, because God is moving.
