Hi from the Philippines everyone!!
We got here yesterday afternoon, so on Chicago time I felt like it was 2am. Because of the time change during our travels we completely lost September 10th! That day never happend for us haha!
My team, Team LOL, is staying here at KIM (Kids International Ministries) until tomorrow afternoon, and then we will leave to start our ministry work in Tondo. We took a tour of the area that KIM is located and it is AMAZING to see all the ways KIM has impacted this community. They have schools, businesses, help other churches in the area, teach people different skills and trades so that they can move up and make more money for their families, they feed the community, and even have a home for 24 girls that come from abusive situations.
Our contact here has been here with his family for 20 years. He is so welcoming, generous and wise and we are so blessed to be here! When he was giving us a tour he said that when they go in and help other churches, they just want to be the wind. Which is what we as World Racers want to be. Wind is not seen, but you see the effects of it. We are not looking to go plant World Race churches around the world, we are looking to bless, build up, and stir up what God has already been doing through people all over the world. We don't need to be seen, but we certainly want to have an effect on the things around us.
We just got back from our first adventure as a team! We took a trike to a jeepney and then a jeepney to the mall. We got pizza and ice cream at the mall and then had a dance party to american rap music that was playing in the supermarket. Now that we're well rested and recovered, I cannot wait to start doing work with my team! This is gonna be an amazing year 🙂
