So… after our third month on the Race, at Z-Family debrief in South Africa, we went through the slightly frightening process of team changes. I want from being a Lady of Light to a Woman of Strength, Team Sound of Strength that is. And we thought that was the end of it. We had officially decided for ourselves that that was the team we would be with for the next 8 months of our lives. We made future plans, traditions, and basically talked about growing old together. Clearly, as far as teammates go, we were pretty comfortable.
As we all know, God never lets us stay comfortable for very long. So this month, once again, we got thrown for a loop. Our very own team leader, Sara Norton, became the Z-Family squad leader alongside Christin Chiles, thus resulting in our team needing a replacement team leader. After 24-hours of nail biting, our new Team Sound of Strength leader was “revealed,” the beautiful, lovable, STRONG woman of God, Amaris Torres. After the initial shock wore off, I realized the amazing opportunity this is for both Sara and Amaris to get to grow and be challenged. They are both such incredible women and God clearly has big plans for them both. I am honored and blessed to get to say I’ve lived and learned from them both and will continue to throughout these next 4 months.
