So I'm sitting here with all of my LOL's (minus Wendy – she is safely at home with her sister!) and we are all just relaxing, joking around with each other, enjoying our Friday night… I asked the girls what my blog should be titled and Ashley casually says "Blog Title"… so that settled that, Blog Title it is!! Haha!
Team LOL is back to doin' what we do best, giving love and light to those who need it most 🙂 Last night at 9 pm, we had the priveledge of helping out with an awesome ministry called Childrens Garden. It is a ministry for street children, particularly street boys. Most of them are orphans, usually runaways. Whenever they can afford it, which I believe is usually once a week, they go to this alley and the children that live on the streets come and they do a feeding for the kids. We spent a few hours with them, holding them, running around with them on our backs, feeding them, and Ashley spent time tracing every single one of their feet so that we could get what size shoe they would be because someone wanted to donate shoes to all of them.
There are some very young girls who also come out for the feeding. they are "call girls." Even in the middle of the feeding one of the girls had to slip away for 15 minutes for a "call" and then she came back. I spent a while having a great conversation with one of the young men who was taken in by Childrens Garden. I spent some time asking him what his dreams and aspirations were. He definitely has been gifted with a lot of wisdom that only comes from the Lord. One thing he shared with me is that experiencing the world for what it really is, outside of the comforts of wealth, is where you will find the true essence of life. I was very blessed by those words from him. So simple, but so profound, and SO true.
I will write another blog very soon informing you of what the last week here in the Philippines has in store for Team LOL. As always, I am SO thankful for your encouragement and prayers.
