So back to the village in Tanzania, just outside of Iringa. The people in the village knew very little to no English, so we had a translator with us yet we still found ourselves sitting in on conversations that were never fully translated. Even though it was very easy to get frustrated at this, and I definatly did, it is crazy to see how almost more powerful than any spoken words is PRAYER.

There is one example from the village that just blew me away. One girl who had accompined us to the village also spoke very little English but was a powerful women of God. She tugged on my arm at one point while we were ministering in the market place and indicated that I should go with her accross the street to a group of men. I thought to myself, “well this should be interesting” and followed her over. She immediatly took off in Swahili, so I proceeded to stand back and PRAY. At one point one of the men who knew a little English pointed at me and asked if I knew Swahili, I shook my head no. His response was, ” well what are you doing here then?” I replied “I’m PRAYING.” After about 15 min of my friend sharing, this same man, wanted to accept Jesus. His whole contanence had changed, the joy on his face was priceless, this was a different man. So we PRAYED with him and after he joyously shook my hand. I smiled and said, “see my PRAYERS worked”

“If you believe , you will recieve whatever you ask for in PRAYER.” Matthew 21:22

Later that same day, after we has finished an outdoor crusade type thing, we asked to PRAY with the 20+ kids that had gathered. We all held hands in a big circle and Micheal begain PRAYING with no translation. We are really not sure what happened in that moment other then you could feel a physical change in the atmospher and when we were finished PRAYING there was a perfect rainbow over us.

“Is any one of you in trouble? he should PRAY. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to PRAY over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the PRAYER offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other so that you may be healed. The PRAYER of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” James 5:13-16

The next day we were doing door to door visits and we ended up at this house where the man of the house was sick with cancer in bed. We asked if we could PRAY for him. The wife just laughed at us, she did not believe he could be healed but said we could try. So we went in and began PRAYING. The room became lighter physically. The man began to feel better, we continued to PRAY. The man started to thank Jesus, we began to worship. Now the man never got up out of that bed but there was a difference. Because we PRAYED.

The most amazing thing was seeing the faith of the 23yr old pastor of this village. We would PRAY and worship before we did anything and after we did anything. So 3-5 times a day we were PRAYING and worshiping together – it was powerful.

“Be joyful always, PRAY continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
