3:30am– wake up, very awear that I have no sleeping mat, but thank God that he laid it on my heart to give it up to our host mom who has been sleeping on the floor for the last 1.5wks. I roll over, thankful that its cooled down and I am not sweating and pray I go back to sleep

4:30am– wake up to someone or something singing over a loud speaker in who knows what language, and the obnoxious sound of the semi-trucks horns as they blow by on the highway 50ft away.

5:30am – I groan knowing that I have to get up in 1/2hr because if we wait any later to go running we will die of heat

6am – sit up in bed and look over at the six other racers sleeping in a line under the stars on a rooftop in India and shake my head at how bizzar my life is. I shake Theresa’s arm and tell her its time to run.

6:20am – 7am – run through the country side of India. A chili field on one side and a corn field on the other with palm trees lining the road. I thank God that I finally have a place to run.

7am – chug 500ml of water, not really caring that its lukewarm from the sun, finish my exercise routine, streatch and lay on the ground in the little bit of shade I can find and wait till the sweat stops pouring out of me.

7:45am – drink 1L of gatorade and do my devotions while eating a healthy but extremly boring breakfast of rasins and peanuts.

8:30am – finally cool enough to take a shower. Shower with a big bucket fill of water and a little one to scoop the water over myself.

8:45am – Begin reading the book “Unveiled” by Francine Rivers.

10am – leave for door to door ministry – it is so so so HOT!!! Find out at the first house that the reason for the loudspeaker singing that is still happening is idol worship and it is going to continue for the next 24hrs -YIPPY!

             Door to door, India

11am – 3rd house, the first man we encounter wants prayer because he has been throwing up blood, so after sharing a little of why we are there and what we believe, we pray for healing. Then he wants to accept Jesus as his one and only God and he wants to be baptized. Theresa explains the significance of baptizim and prays with him. We head over to the water pump to baptize only to discover there is no water so we agree to come back later that afternoon.

11:20am – The neighbour has been watching and listening to our conversation and calls us over. We again explain why we are there. He says he wants to get baptized too but that he needs to wait till Tuesday, after he has had his medical check up. We inquire as to why he needs a check up and he informs us that he has a broken hip. No problem we tell him, God will heal you. So we procceed to pray for his hip, he gets up and walks, without his stick, pain free!!!! The family and neighbours are all just as shocked as we are! We ask him if he would like to recieve Jesus into his heart, he agrees.

12:15pm – One more Liter of water, 3 houses and 2 miracles later we are back at our house and out of the heat. I continue to read my book as lunch is being prepared.

1pm – Lunch is served: instant noodles spiced up with some tomatoes, eggplant, green beans, salt and pepper, with a side of juicy mango.

1:30pm – Back to reading my book sitting on the floor in a room amoungst my squad mates sprawled out in every direction doing their own thing.

2:30pm – finished the book, layed down for a much needed nap

3pm – wake up in a puddle of sweat and reflect on how gross I am right now. Drink another 500mls of warm water.

4pm – About to go baptise the older gentelman from earlier that day. find out that we had land donated to us and after the baptizem we are going to go see it. We are all so so so excitied; we get to build next week!

4:15pm – We all gather around, the man tells us he hasn’t thrown up blood again since we prayed for him. Praise the Lord! They fill 2 buckets with water and the old man gets into a cement tub that is way to small. Theresa and Lacey each take a bucket. Theresa prays and the man repeats, then together they baptise him. AMAZING, his face was literally glowing!

             Baptism, India

4:45pm – we all head over to the plot of land that was donated. We find out that the mother of the family that donated the land had had kidney stones and some of our team had prayed for her healing and she was healed – AMEN! We take a moment to praise God for his amazing provision.

5:15pm Lacey and I start to head back as it is our turn to cook. Lacey points out how crazy our day has been, I agree. I voice my frustration of not being able to write a blog because so much has happened this month and I don’t know where to start; she suggessts I just write one about today.

6:15pm – we eat a supper of the left over noodles, tomato & onion salad, watermelon and some chipati and curry from a street vendor. Praying that we won’t all be up using the toilet all night.

6:40pm – We all grab a piece of equipment and begin to head down the street to set up for our nightly showing of the Jesus film.

            Jesus film, India

7:15pm – All set up, in the middle of the road, the motor bikes and bicycles are just going under! Then we are informed we have to move the screen because a man needs to bring his sheep by. So 4 people move the screen while the rest of us build a human wall around the projector to protect it from the 100+ sheep that are heading our way.

7:30pm – Screen back in place, everyone is settled to start and the pastor comes over to inform us that we need to turn the projector off because someone needs to milk their water buffalo and light scares them so they will not produce any milk. So we turn it off and wait.

7:45pm – We are told the milking is over, we can now start the 2hr film.

9pm – the wind picks up and the screen blows over and almost hits Heidi but she saw it coming and managed to roll to the side it misses her by inches. Screen is put back up with rocks on the legs to hold it.

10pm – the film is over, we pack up and head home in the dark.

10:15pm – the only bathroom is fill, and theres a line up – surprise!! 13 people and one bathroom is tough. So 4 of us head to the kitchen sink to brush our teeth, wash our face and have a baby wipe bath.

10:30pm -I set up my sleeping pad on the roof. I spray Lacey with bug spray, she sprayes me, the bug spray continues its way down the line of people spread out on the roof. We lay down and despratly try to block out the music still blarring out of the loud speakers and the horns honking and the fact that we are still sweating even though we are not moving. And thank God for a crazy, amazing, super fantastic day.
