My mom is seriously the most amazing person ever and I love her to pieces! There are so many qualities that I admire about my mother and I hope that one day I can come anywhere close to being the mother that she has been to me and my sisters. Here are a few qualities that make my mom so special:
- She is extremely humble- she always points to others and their qualities over herself
- She is self-sacrificing- is always caring for and worrying about others over herself
- She is giving- gives her time, effort, care and all her love to others
- She is so supportive of everything I do- try telling your mom that you are gonna go on an 11-month long mission trip to 11 different countries, (yes of course she was/is worried, scared and anxious about me going) yet she supports me 100%.
- She works very hard- she was working part-time and now took on a full-time job to help pay for me and my sister for school and living expenses, along with moving into a much smaller house
- She is beautiful
- She is an incredible tennis player- she kicks my butt, and everyone else’s
- She is a great listener- I can talk to her about absolutely anything and she is my go to when I want someone to talk to who will genuinely listen and care
- She is my best friend
- She has so much joy and her personality lights up the room
- I love her smile
- She is always warm, friendly and welcoming
- She likes everything to be fair
- She is funny and she can keep up with me and my sister’s weirdness (believe me that is hard to do)
- she is excitable and makes the best sound effects
- She is smart
- She is me and my sister’s number one fan
…I could seriously go on and on about my mom!
Some of my favorite memories with her:
- when we had a playhouse and she would draw big flowers with us and we would make tape them outside the house to make a garden
- when my little sister and I would come up with dances/variety shows all day and then wait for my mom to come home to perform it for her
- she would have a snack prepared for us every day we got home from school
- she packed us the best school lunches
- going to Santa Cruz every year and staying with my grandparents
- shopping adventures
- going to Sea Ranch
- hosting the best sleepovers for me and my friends
- threw the best birthday parties for me and my sister
- going for bike rides in South Lake Tahoe
- coming to my track meets and cheering me on and supporting me as my biggest fan
- always taking pictures (I may have not wanted to at times but I really appreciate it now)
- just sitting and talking about everything
- playing 500 rummy with her
- movie nights
- beach days
- playing out in the snow
- going mini-golfing, bowling, swimming/swim lessons with the Morgan family
- taking the best care of me and my sister when we were/are sick
- family board games
- family vacations
Mom, I just want you to know how thankful I am to have you. I feel blessed beyond measure. Thank you for bringing me up in love and going above and beyond to care for our family. You are the most patient, kind, humble, genuine, selfless, forgiving, honest, joyful, beautiful woman I know and I am so proud to call you my mother. I can’t express to you what you truly mean to me and how much I truly appreciate all that you have done/will do for me. Your love towards me and others is such a beautiful example of the type of love that Jesus showed to all of us. Happy Mother’s Day!I love you mom!!
Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous; is not proud; is not conceited; does not act foolishly; is not selfish; is not easily provoked to anger; keeps no record of wrongs; takes no pleasure in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
