Margaret

Margaret is a special six year old little girl in the Bagot community.  She comes from a home with “four moms and three dads” as she describes it.  I’m not sure what that means, but whatever it is makes for an unpleasant family time.  I love the way her face lights up when I tell her how much Jesus loves her and that He will NEVER go away.  I love that when her mom handed her five dollars as she walked out of the house to go to the club, I got to assure Maragaret that as much as her mom leaves, Jesus loves her that much more.   I get to share how important it is to rely on and place all of our dreams in God, who is our creator.
Sometimes, especially on pool Friday’s, she can get a little crazy.  She seems to be a typical whiney little kid, but I have so much compassion for her knowing that she has never been properly loved or accepted in her family or at school.  She thinks her mom hates her because she shaved her head (I assume because of a lice outbreak) and that her sister hates her because she is treated like the black sheep.
I pray for her daily, and hope that you now do too.  I pray that she finds comfort, piece, and identity in Jesus Christ and that He is her daddy, her best friend, and creator!

I have had this blog ready for about two weeks, but now is the time to post itr because on Wednesday night…..Margaret accepted Jesus into her heart.  While I was not directly there when it happened because I was leading worship, she was excited to fill me that she "Asked Jesus to come in"!!!!!!!!   Praise God that He has chosen Margaret to be comforted by the Holy Spirit!
