After one truck ride, three bus rides, two plane rides, one train ride, and a taxi we arrived in England. We’re spending our first few days at the YWAM base in Harpenden, outside of London. We’ll be here until we figure out more concrete plans for this months ministry.

Growing up I was a frequent visitor to Gatwick and Heathrow airports, but I’ve only ever been to London once for a brief three day college visit. However, being here makes me feel like I’m home. Not the home as in my parents house, or where the majority of my belongings are, not the place I lived last, but where my heart is. I’ve always had the desire to travel the world, to see the variety of cultures and customs, but the more I travel and the more I see, I realize that my heart truly is in Europe, no doubt about it. There’s something so magical about Europe, each different country has a different feel and atmosphere, but you can’t shake the magical feeling. This is where I belong.

Being here for Christmas is truly a gift, probably one of the best surprise Christmas presents ever. I can’t wait to take what we’ve been learning the past few months, our view of God, our view of ourselves, and our purpose in God from the third world back to the first. I think this will be a good and challenging month as we bring God’s kingdom to England.

Thank you God for unexpected gifts!
