Last Tuesday we were woken up at 430am to begin our first race – Palenque to Antigua, Guatemala. Having planned everything in advance, we called our driver and he arrived within 20 minutes. We teamed up with the G-racers and all piled into our small Kombi (a kind of taxi/van) headed for the border. I felt sick pretty much the entire day which resulted in me sleeping 90% of the time. So details are limited, but I can tell you after 14 hours of travel we arrived in Antigua the victorious winners of the race. Go team Pi!

Our time in Antigua was spent debriefing our Mexico experience with our coaches, Seth and Karen, as well as getting some much needed rest and relaxation. In addition to the down time and debrief time, we got to have some fun which included hiking a volcano and roasting marshmellows on top!

On Sunday the 27th a shuttle picked all 16 of us (teams Pi, Kiatera, and 5-Alive) up at 230am to take us to Guatemala City in order to catch our 4am bus. We traveled the entire day, first through El Salvador, then Honduras, and finally into Nicaragua. Four countries in one day!!! That’s a new personal record for me. Now we are here in Granada meeting our contact and getting an introduction to Nicaragua before we split up and head to our different ministry locations. We should be in Ocotal by Thursday evening and as of yet we have no idea what the internet situation will look like. I’ll post as often as I can. Thanks for following along.

Please continue to keep team Pi in your prayers as we start our next month of ministry!
