I spent the first three and half weeks after the race visiting friends in Ireland and Germany. It was a wonderful time of relaxing, reading, journaling, praying, listening to God, sleeping, playing games, processing, laughing, and exploring some new cities and some old favorites. God knew exactly what I needed and I can’t begin to imagine a better post race first few weeks. A special thanks to the Xantho’s and Robertson’s for your generosity and hospitality, it meant more than you know.

On the 16th of June I flew back to Georgia via Dusseldorf and New York. Each time the plane landed it brought on an outpouring of tears. This past year has been an amazing experience. If someone told me it wasn’t over, but instead I had another 6 months to go I would be more than excited. However, amidst my tears, God reassured me once again that this is only the beginning not the end and although Georgia is not my favorite place to be, it’s not for forever.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

For the next few weeks I’m visiting family and friends here in Georgia, in Montreal, Canada, and in Phoenix, Arizona. On the 24th of August I land back at the Atlanta International Airport. I’m not sure how long I’ll be in Georgia or where I’m going next, but God does 🙂 Please continue to keep me in your prayers as I travel and visit friends and wait on the Lord to guide me.

And stay tuned… I’ve got a few race wrap-up blogs on the way.
