Two months ago I sent out 250 support letters to family, friends, and churches asking for their help in raising 15,800.00 dollars. I’ve never had to raise that much money before, so I’ve been trying to continually reassure myself that when you have God on your side anything is possible. Now, a mere two months later, God is showing me that He indeed has everything under control and there is no need for me to worry. Through God’s unfailing provision and the generosity of friends from all over the country and even some overseas, I have already raised a third of my goal!

I have been so blessed and encouraged by the response I’ve received! I find myself spending numerous afternoons writing thank you notes, however, after nearly 30 thank yous I’m getting worried that my gratitude isn’t coming through as clear or as genuine as I would like. There are only so many ways to convey how much it means to me that people are truly interested in what I’m doing and are willing to partner with me. With each note I’ve been praying not only for my supporters, but also that they would truly feel my appreciation.

In addition to the individual thank you notes, I would like to voice my utmost gratitude once more for all to see. For some time I’ve felt called to missions. I didn’t really know what that looked like for me, so instead of trying to figure it out I simply started following my own plans and put missions aside. I told myself maybe when I’m older, or maybe after I’ve traveled, or maybe after I’m married. But after closing all the doors that I was so desperately trying to open, God showed me that He had a plan for me right now. His plan is for me to go on this incredible journey around the world: to discover the nations and pour His love onto them, to discover God and deepen my relationship with Him, and to discover myself and all that God has in store for me. This is going to be a major turning point in my life. There’s no going back from here and I couldn’t be more excited. You have helped make this possible for me… to anyone who has prayed for me, whether it was in passing or whether it’s an ongoing daily process, to anyone who is following this blog and showing there support, to anyone who has donated financially and shown how amazing God’s provisions are… I want to say a giant heartfelt THANK YOU! This trip wouldn’t be possible without your generosity and kindness.
