The past couple of weeks in Ho Chi Minh have been some of the best and hardest of the trip so far. We came here praying that God would get our armor dirty. We knew that we were all equipped with the armor of God but we were feeling like it was a little to clean for our liking. God didn’t give us this amazing armor to just sit around and look pretty. He gave us His armor to stand up against the enemy, to fight against the darkness. When we settled into our hotel it was immediately evident that God had answered our prayers.

The first floor of our hotel is used entirely for prostitution. Each room has a hand written, slightly worn number taped to the outside of the door. Inside, a cold blue light highlights the bed that is used over and over again throughout the night. Girls disappear into a room accompanied by a paying customer and return twenty minutes later with a little more money and a lot less emotion. At the beginning of the evening some of the girls seem energetic, some even have a hint of life in their eyes. But by the second or third customer they’re completely empty inside, their eyes pleading for help, longing for a life lived outside of this nightmare.

We asked to be used and God has placed us in a situation desperately in need of some light. It’s been hard to watch what goes on downstairs, my heart cries out for the women and even for the men that have such skewed senses of right and wrong. However, I know we are here for a purpose. God has truly come alive in the entire squad and we are walking in His power and authority. We have set up a prayer schedule every night from 10pm to 7am, with two people praying every hour, praying for the women downstairs, the men they entertain, the hotel workers who are constantly surrounded by this environment, and for the country as a whole. We’ve been reclaiming this city for Christ and we’re starting with our hotel.

We would love for you to join us in our battle. On Sunday night we’ve planned an all night worship/prayer/prophecy/communion service to continue reclaiming this place for the Lord. With the time difference, our service will be going on all day Sunday afternoon in the States, please join us in praying for the women and men of Vietnam. With God’s help we can truly bring light into this dark, dark, place.
