Has God ever called you to a place, a time, a person and even spoken clearly a task to do but You went and nothing happened?
This was the story I was given that made me question: If a tumor may be in Me!
We were told this story where a group of Christian men and women were challenged to close their eyes, wait, listen, hear the voice of God and respond accordingly. So as they began to give their hearts over to the Lord, His spirit came to speak through pictures and words things like a blue house at the end of a road, someone needing salvation, healing and restoration from what the enemy has stolen. The more they listened the more direction they got. They took what they had heard and began their journey looking for what the lord had spoke. First things first, a blue house. They got to the end of the street and asked the Lord, “Give us direction, where do we go now?” Ever time they asked He spoke: left, right and even to keep straight.
When they arrived at the blue house! They quickly acquired information that this house wasn’t a safe place. A home to a pimp and drug lord. A VERY DANGEROUS MAN but God spoke clear that they were to see through what they had heard from Him. His wife answered the door informing them that yes the man they had spoke of lived in this home but he was very sick. Unable to come to the door they asked if they could come in and pray for him. They realized very quickly that the man was dying from a massive tumor growing in his abdomen. After hearing from the Lord they asked permission to lay hands on the gentlemen. God was working and moving tears began to role down his face. So they pushed harder on the mans stomach proclaiming healing over him with all authority by the father. They all thought wow God is in this by the response of the mans sorrow.
Shortly after they asked him if he felt something happening in his stomach. He said, ” Yes, I’m in great pain can you please take your hands off of me.” Quickly removing our hands they thought well maybe he needs healing of his heart first. Salvation, Yes that was it! He needed to receive Jesus first then he could get the complete healing. So they moved forward, told him about Jesus and asked if he was ready to receive salvation. He said thank you but wasn’t ready to do that today maybe another time. So the group desperate to see Gods word be complete, just stopped what THEY were doing and CRIED OUT for HELP from the FATHER! They didn’t know what else to do other than worship. As they began with eyes closed and hands lifted God began a great work in the mans heart. He was confessing sins, asking for forgiveness, and worshiping praising God for his grace & mercy.
It hit us, God didn’t need us to bring the work he wanted to be done. Maybe we were the thing that got in the way of God healing that tumor. It was us trying to complete the work as a disciple of Jesus rather than Him completely the work in the man. The next day the man walks into the only local church in the community and fear set over the congregation. Women grabbing their children and men grabbing there wives from this very violent man. He walked directly to the alter and began to weep over what the Lord had done. Proclaiming out of a repentant heart Gods grace, mercy and love but never mentioned his physical healing of the tumor. When asked by the group why he didn’t share God’s miracle he said, “I did share God’s miracle! The miracle by his mercy I am SAVED!”
So I ask and challenge you, Are you the tumor? Do you ALLOW GOD to do a great work or do you get in the way by doing?
