God had a better plan. I was the first one who entered the room with all the children; when God began to speak to me through a 4 year old named Gabe. It was love at first sight. With a HUGE smile on his face he said “Come sit. You me ,yes, you me.” Then he hugged me. With a HUGE grin on his face he asked me to put him in my lap. You see he was born with Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida has stolen all mobility to the lower half of his body. He is completely paralyzed him from his waist down. He wasn’t satisfied just being in my lap; he wanted to face me. Once I turned him around he did not take His eyes off me. As each girl entered the room after me I heard The Lord say, ” Like this child has not taken his eyes off of you, neither have I.” As Gabe continued to be captives by my presence I was amazed not once did he turn around to look for someone else or something better but he was completely satisfied with me nothing more or nothing less would make him happier than him being in my presence. It was love at first sight.
God continued to poor out his love on me through this special child. You see with out his need for Love I would have missed God trying to love me. His “special needs” revealed my special need! God used him to tell me that when I walk in the room he is completely satisfied with me. He is not looking over my shoulder for something better rather he thinks I’m the BEST.It was love at first sight. You see the reality is God can make things touch your heart and you can follow in love with his children the moment you lay eyes on them. Just like he does with us. I know because I have a little boy I think about almost hourly. In a way I’m a mom to him. I care for him in ways I didn’t even know I could.
