Hello! My name is Shadrach Jensen. I am the middle child of four, which seems impossible, but is not. I have an older brother, Heath, and twin younger siblings, Sterling and Aspen. I was born in Oregon (and remain loyal to its sports teams) but have lived in Montrose, Colorado since I was eight years old. After graduating high school I left Montrose and moved to Salem, Oregon to play basketball at a junior college for two years. It was a blessing to be part of a team and to be playing basketball, which is one of my greatest passions. I then felt God calling me to something else so I returned home and began volunteering with the youth group at my home church, First Presbyterian Church of Montrose. The past two summers I have served as an intern to the youth program at FPC and have been blessed to live life alongside the youth and other leaders. I have learned about myself; the gifts that God has given me and how to use them, as well as how to use those gifts while working within a team. Most importantly, I’ve been able to share my love for Jesus with the youth and others in my community. This Gap Year experience will be my fourth trip with Adventures in Missions. I was first a participant on a Passport trip to Guatemala in the spring of 2013 and since then have lead two different trips to the Philippines and Swaziland. God has used each experience to rock my world and teach me new things. Each trip has provided new opportunities for growth and allowed me to live out my passion for the Lord and serving His children. I have seen what it means to bring light to very dark places and to bring God’s love to people who have sadly never experienced it. I am so thankful for this opportunity to lead and to serve on this journey. I ask that you would join me with your support, both in your prayers and financially if you feel led to do so. Thank you for joining me on this adventure!
