Good evening from Romania. Hope life is treating you all well. I apologize for this being my first blog from Romania during the last week of my stay here. I have written a decent number of blogs this month, but I could never get my laptop to connect to the Internet. So, I’m trying it all from the iPod tonight.
I am wrapping up my last week here in Sistarovat. It is a quiet and beautiful little village nestled in the hills of western Romania. These past three weeks my team has been working at the Seven Springs Christian Camp to prepare it for the kids who will be arriving shortly after we leave. The three months of my time in Europe have been largely to serve as a forerunner for kids and other missionaries. But it has been an incredible blessing. It has involved a lot of landscaping work, painting, fixing benches, preaching a sermon or two, meeting and working with Scottish missionaries at the camp next door, going to Bible studies, prayer walks in the community, and tons of other God blessed kingdom building activities.
Perhaps the best part of it all is the friendship I have formed with our contact Mihai. He’s a hard worker and a godly man, only a few years older than I am. We have had the opportunities to preach together, work together, talk theology together, and even go mushroom hunting in the woods together. I really feel like one of the biggest reasons God brought our team here was so that we could encourage him. And God has blessed our time with him so much. He is truly our brother, and I am going to miss him. But hey, we have all eternity to hang out, so I’m not going to be too discouraged.
God has really opened up my eyes this month to the need for me to be focused on other people, how I can pour into them. It’s amazing how much more joy and purpose I have felt this month simply because I have made it my focus to love on those around me well. It has been truly blessed and I plan on making this a habit for the rest of my life. Thank you Lord.
I am convinced of this truth: God is always ready to take us to the next level in our walk with Him; the question is, are we willing?
Europe has been such a blessed time, and now we have less than a week before going to Kenya. The feeling is so exciting and surreal. I can hardly wait. Please remember us in your prayers. I will do better with blogs next month granted that we have Internet. It’s so good to be able to talk to you guys.
God bless y’all back home. May He take every one if you deeper than you’ve ever been before. In Christ’s name,
Seth
