So, right now I’m at Sunzal beach in El Salvador, the self-acclaimed “Surf Capital of the World.” It is beautiful here! Comfortable rooms with AC for $25 a night, $1 hamburgers and foot-long subs, delicious tropical smoothies, giant Pacific waves, Geckos galore, gargantuan toads, Sharky’s Restaurant, Palm trees, squads of surfers, Tiki huts, and all those things that contribute to a stellar week at the beach have made our stay an enjoyable one.

Seriously, this even tops last week’s beach trip in Honduras. There we slept out on the beach under the stars, drank water from freshly “picked” coconuts, chased off rogue pigs and cattle from our campsite, caught crabs, and did a half-mile tide pursuit. That was last week’s beaching venture on the Pacific and this week’s is proving equally bodacious.
God is good and He has been really helping me out. I’ve been hungering for a deeper relationship with Him and He has been teaching me. God desires a deep relationship with me. He is my best friend. He sticks “closer than a brother,” and He is actively pursuing me. Our relationship is not shallow because of lack of effort on His part, it’s because of distractions on my part. He loves me and He wants more of me. So, I’m really trying to press into that.

At the same time, there are so many beautiful distractions here: food, fun, nature, women… keeping an eternal perspective can be challenging. Making new friends can be difficult too, but I am enjoying the process. God is so good and there are so many cool people on the World Race.

Tomorrow our squad splits up. My team, Team Noria, is joining forces with Team 7th Sparrow and we are heading to Apastapeque, El Salvador tomorrow to meet our contact. I have no idea what to expect. But, there will be 13 of us at this site for the month of February. It should be pretty awesome.

Again, please “friend me” on facebook to see the pictures I’m taking. They are totally legit and I don’t want anybody to miss out. Please continue to pray for us, that we would be of one spirit and love and that God would work mightly through us to glorify His Name wherever He sends us. It’s been a great experience so far and I want to continue to grow! I want to change the world! Pray that would happen: that God would change us and through us, the world.

Love ya’ll! Hope Nebraska is peachy as ever! Winter here is 90’s and humid.  Tons of sun-burned folk. God bless guys. Take care.
