Dear Church Family,
Good
day! I hope this letter finds you at peace and in good health. If not, please
let me know immediately and it will be my pleasure to defer you to another. Ok,
I’m kidding. But I do hope that God has you at a good place in life. He has certainly
been gracious to me.
Recently,
I’ve been presented with the tremendous opportunity of joining Adventures in
Missions on an international missionary project known as the World Race.
Starting this January, I will rendezvous with an army of over 200 young
missionaries and launch out on a journey covering 11 countries in 11 months.
During this time, we will be spreading the gospel, doing construction work,
assisting orphanages, working at hospitals, loving the lost, praying for the
sick, and a myriad of other kingdom-building activities. Our objective is to
glorify God by serving “the least of these” and taking the truth in love to a
broken world.
I
have no doubts that this will be a life-altering experience. I also anticipate
that this will be a very challenging time. Any great opportunity is going to be
accompanied by great obstacles, which is why I am writing you. For a trip like
this, I’m going to need a barrage of prayer support. The enemy isn’t going to
sit around while we’re trying to reach the world for Christ. There will be
opposition. There will be days of discouragement. There will be days of
illness. There will be days where all we want to do is go home. And for all of
these days, I am asking for your continual support in prayer.
Would you be willing to pray for me
and my team throughout the entire year of 2013?
Your prayers might turn out to be the
element that really pulls our team through the tough times on this journey. So,
if you’re geared for the challenge, I would love to have your support.
Needless to say, I am pumped for this
trip. The possibilities are endless, the opportunities numerous, and the
journey tremendous. It’s going to be an adventure. And with the solid support of
my home church, I know it will be a race to remember.
WR BIO: Seth Rehmert
I
am a member of the mighty O Squad (currently 46 racers) for the World Race
which will be visiting El Salvador,
Guatemala, Honduras, Tanzania,
Uganda, Kenya, Albania,
Romania, Bulgaria, China,
and the Philippines.
We will spend a month in each country.
My team/family over the next year is Team Noria. In the picture below you have all six of us captured in our natural World Race environment! From
left to right we have: Ms. Andi Moore, Ms. Freweini Ghebreselassi, Ms. Carina
Slimm, Mr. Ben Treadwell (Team Captain), Mr. Daniel Gonzalez Marquez, and yours
truly.

Fun Fact: Noria is the Spanish word for waterwheel.
Though the name relates to our team’s first meeting, as Mr. Treadwell says, “A water wheel is a machine for converting the energy of
free-flowing or falling water into useful forms of power [thank you Webster].
In other words, Team Noria is a machine seeking to impact those who are lost,
wandering, and without purpose by making them hopeful and effective for eternity
and for God’s glory.”
