I hope everyone is having the greatest week of their lives! I know I've had a pretty good one. Let me bring you up to speed.
This week I was bumped up to the 10,000's in my account. That is monumental! I am beyond thankful and humbled at the amount I have received! I am in awe at all of the overwhelming support that I have received. It gives me more courage and conviction to know that so many of you believe in what God has in store for me and my squad this coming year. I can never thank you enough.
The next bit of news has to do with when I leave. Today we found out the exact date that we get to fly off into the world for a year. I leave for Atlanta on September 6th for a bit of pre-launch training and then head out to Guatemala on September 10th. Only 37 days!! I'm on the edge of my seat. Ready to rock and roll. However, this means there isn't but about a month left if you want to meet with me face to face! If you're interested in what I'm doing, unsure if you feel lead to give, or just want to talk don't hesitate to get in touch with me! My email is [email protected], and I would love to talk to you!
If you are interested in supporting me (and therefore be as much a part of this trip as me), there are 3 great ways in which you could do it.
1. Prayerful Support
Prayer is huge. And W Squad is going to need oh so much of it. Please consider praying for my squad and I as we gear up to head out on this adventure. Pray for safety, fundraising, and a great deal of growth spiritually. God is going to show up and show off in the most amazing ways, and I want everyone to be fully funded and healthy enough to see it! Also be in prayer for Kyle and I as we start learning and training about our Logistics Coordinator position. This is going to be one of the coolest parts of the Race for me, but it will also be one of the hardest. So please keep us in your prayers for that!
2. Financial Support
I am currently at 10,159. This means I am only $841 away from my third financial goal of $11,000 in December. I would love nothing more than to hit that goal before launch! Another bit of news is that the insurance that I am getting has been paid for by Adventures in Missions, but has been added to my overall cost for the Race. That brings my overall total to $16,285. But, I'm not nervous because I know that God always comes through! However, the way He is choosing to do that is through you. Please consider giving financially to this journey. If you've read any of my past blogs you know how excited and convicted I am about this trip (and if you haven't, why not go give em a read?). There are two ways that you can do this:
First you could click on the "Support Me" tab on the left hand side of the page. There you can directly send me a donation of any type (every bit helps!) that will go directly into my account.
Second you can send a check directly to:
Adventures in Missions
PO Box 534470
Atlanta, GA 30353-4470
Make sure you put POWELLSETH in the memo line so the donation makes it into my account.
3. Food for the Hungry
Adventures in Missions has started a partnership with Food for the Hungry. This is an organization that is Christ-centered and focuses on feeding and caring for children all over the world. In fact four of the countries I go to have children being cared for by Food for the Hungry (Guatemala, Nicaragua, Cambodia, and Mozambique). Here's how you can do double the good with one click. Each child that receives a one year sponsorship of $32 a month, I will receive a $50 donation straight to my account! But only if you sponsor a child through the link on my blog.
All you have to do is click on the picture on the left side of the screen that looks like this:

You can choose a gender, a country, and a specific child to sponsor. An added bonus is that there is a chance I might get to meet some of the kids that you sponsor! Once you sponsor a child you will receive a picture of them so you can be reminded of the child you helped! Can you think of a cooler thing than that?
Finally, please subscribe to my blog! I would hate for you to miss out on any of the wonderful things that God does through my squad and I this year, and the best way to keep in touch is to keep in touch with my blog!
So what do you say, wanna partner with me?
Seth
