Hello!
My name is Seth Powell, and I wanna tell you a little about myself. I was born in Las Vegas (where my parents started a church), but was raised and still live down here in South Mississippi. I am a 22 year old senior in college at the University of Southern Mississippi where I am studying Marine Biology with a minor in Communications Studies. It's a pretty strange blend of classes, but I like it. I have a mother, father, and little brother. My dad is a pastor here in Hattiesburg (First Hattiesburg if you've heard of it), my mother teaches high school English and French, and my brother is a Sophomore here at Southern Miss. I'm a true fish nerd (aquariums, wildlife, everything), a quality that gets on my friend's nerves every now and then. I'm a former Track and Field discus and shotput thrower here at Southern Miss, which led me to get heavily involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes! Even though I no longer resemble anything close to an athlete.
I dedicated my life to Christ at a young age and grew up in an extremely supportive Christian family full of missionaries, ministers, pastors, and worship leaders. College has given me a place to mature in my faith and really try and figure out what God wants me to do with my life. At first I thought Graduate school, but now I know for a fact that He wants me to be on the World Race! I'm incredibly excited about this opportunity and can't wait to share all of with you guys that will read my blog! I have a strong feeling that God is going to use my fellow racers and I to reach this world in ways that we could only do with His help, as well as do a work in us that will change us forever.
So, that's me. If you wanna know more there is a little contact tab on the left, or you could check out my existing blog: fishermanginger.wordpress.com! Can't wait to do some crazy travelling, be used by God to reach this world, and be changed by God so He can use me even more. Check in every now and again and see what I'm up to!
