Life Through the Spiritual Prism.
My Grandfather is a retired pastor or so it seems that way on paper. From seeing him in my years growing up, you really never retire from pastoral work. I guess it shows the legacy and impression you can leave on a place. At a recent funeral, he spoke of the aspect of death and what it really implies. Death is inevitable and is a common focal point of the human experience. It’s something that cannot be changed in our physical reality but how we see death can change how we live our lives.
My grandfather compared seeing death as looking through a prism. When we look through this prism, instead of seeing our physical plain, we see a conglomeration of colors that are bright, bold and beautiful. Death is a release of, pain, sorrow and suffering much like a prism is a release from something without color to an abundance of colors. This prism that we look through is called faith and from what I’m learning it is through death that we see the Kingdom of God and it's many colors.
What I’m learning more is faith is seeing into the Kingdom of Heaven and making the Kingdom of Heaven seen in the world around me. Faith is the pathway and the funnel from the “Kings Domain”, to manifest in the environment around us. The Authentic Christian life is operated in the knowledge that “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand” (Mat. 10:7). So the Christian life is fueled by operating in the unseen or ‘the Kings domain’. It is the kingdom of heaven where God rules and enacts authority. So, my life as a son is making the Kingdom of heaven seen and manifested in our physical reality.
What does it mean to live life through the prism of faith and bring the light of love to the world around me? This is a question this is being unveiled more and more through my relationship with Papa. When Jesus was teaching His disciples to pray, He said “Your Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Mat. 6:10). There is a need and calling from Jesus to make this physical reality work as it is in heaven. It is a call to make what is natural, supernatural and to make what is darkness, light. So, living in faith brings the reality of God to earth. It is through our relationships with Him that this happens because we are beauty of His heart and the breath in His Spirit.
As I continue to grow in intimacy, the Kingdom of Heaven in my mind and heart become more evident. It is through living in faith that I hope to bring window to him and continue to be transformed by His love. Thank you for reading!
Joyfully,
Seth
