Perhaps you’re wondering, “didn’t she JUST get home? What’s she talking about leaving again for!?”
It’s true. I am fresh off the field. Haven’t even written a re-entry blog yet….
Regardless, call me crazy but I’m talking about leaving because I AM leaving for India in just one week!! This time God’s called me to lead and pour out all He’s poured into me this past year into high school women. Here are the details on my next month.
Myself, my co-leader Megan and the 9 spectacular women we get to lead are going to support an awesome ministry called ICM (India Christian Ministries) in Hyderabad, India. Their mission is to transform communities by working through the churches in the communities. India Christian Ministries has presence in 5,000 villages (increasing every year) that house the poorest of the poor.
Our team will be working for 3 weeks with their CCDC program which was launched in 2011. That stands for Covenant Child Development Center. Each Center serves 25 of the poorest, most at-risk children living in communities with a partnered church. The CCDC provides protection and discipleship to these kids. All children attend the Center every evening for 2 hours. They receive a meal, tutoring for their classes and Christian education.
Our team will be involved in discipiling the children in what a relationship with Jesus looks like. We will do a half day of hands on work like painting orphan homes, painting churches etc, and in the evening village outreaches to the kids at the Centers. We will be involved with a VBS as well.
I couldn’t be more excited to put on another long skirt, twist my tongue around another new language and make some new disciples. I need your help though! Pray for me! Support me! Follow me! Send me!
