Hello everyone!
This will be a brief update (there’s more to come!)
Our journey in Africa has been incredible so far. The team has been experiencing so many different types of ministry and through that has been experiencing Jesus in new ways. Over the next few days, I will post a few stories from our team’s experiences in eSwatini (Swaziland’s new name) and some from our time in South Africa so far. For now, here’s a few highlights!
Much of our team either didn’t like cooking or did not have much experience in the kitchen. So, of course, month 1 we were cooking 3 meals a day for ourselves. This gave my co leader, Ruthann, and I the opportunity to spend time in the kitchen every day with women on our team, teaching them how to cook and allowing them to serve their team and share meals together each evening.
In Nsoko, eSwatini, the AIM care points we worked at were all being repainted so that they could be identifiable bright spots in the community. We got to paint a couple of buildings bright lime green and black. As you drive from Manzini to Nsoko you can spot care points all over. And you know that those bright green buildings are bringing life and light to the homes and communities around them.
Be on the lookout for an update about our friend Gabsile we worked with in Nsoko.
In Jeffrey’s Bay we’re partnered with Global Leadership Academy and we’ve been doing outreach in the community for the first two weeks. The students have been on winter break but this week they started school again so we’ve been meeting the students and helping in their classes.
We’re loving our time here, thank you so much for the support and prayers. We’re excited about these next two weeks in J Bay!
