Our month in India was a great start to our race. The week we arrived, it rained just about every day, but we usually were still able to go out and be a part of the ministry opportunities the organization had set up for us. We helped at medical camps in different villages and did our best at being useful on some construction sites. We were able to attend some classes at the local seminary and have English conversations with the students at the end of the school day.
Squad month has been exciting, challenging and hilarious; we have all grown so much just in the first month of being on the race. It has been such a gift and a blessing to get to do ministry alongside our entire squad, to learn from one another, and create an environment where we truly feel like a family.
Our days consisted of chai tea (every single morning, it’s the best), working at different ministry sites, and for me and a some other racers, playing volleyball with local students every afternoon.
We adored our hosts, we were truly blessed to be able to be helping hands in their ministry for the month. Our hosts and their organization taught us about how great of an impact one faithful person can have. What an encouraging start to our race. We may never see what the Lord uses our race for or we may see what he’s doing right away. One thing is for sure, the Lord can use us however he wants to, we just have to be open handed and willing.
I want to thank my supporters for being so faithful and encouraging in the first month. I had extremely limited access to internet last month and my computer broke within the first six days here (I’m going today to get it fixed!). So regardless of how badly I have wanted to update you all or even shoot a text to my parents saying everything is great, it hasn’t been super accessible.
Regardless of that, in the couple of times I had wifi access, I have received encouragement, emails, donations, and blog comments from so many of you. Thank you, thank you! Also, Mommy, thank you. I’m sure she has been more diligent than I have this month with posting about fundraising and support. Shout out Tove`, you’re the best and I miss and love you all.
Please continue to pray for our squad and team as we move onto our next hosts. We’ve arrived in Nepal and we are excited for what is going to happen next. Please pray that we would continue to press into the opportunities the Lord presents to us. And please pray that I’ll be able to get my computer fixed successfully! I would love to be able to share more with you all, and I have tons of pictures and videos to show of our adventures in India! Thank you for your continued support, it means so much to me.
Love always,
Sequoi
