A month with no plans, no assignment, no connections. Go to Argentina and ask the Lord what to do. That’s how our month began. We had an insane travel day to get here, we slept in the airport, showed up to the first service at Hillsong Church the following morning, and prayed to find a place to stay.
We told countless people about ourselves, what we were doing, and continued to pray throughout the day that we would find a place to stay. At 10:30 PM, a woman named Pricila offered for us to stay with her in her small apartment. If you ever want to hear about how kind, loving, and sacrificial she is, ask anyone on our team. We were immensely blessed by her.
Within the first 12 hours of being outside the airport in Buenos Aires we met family. We met a woman who helped us make connections all day, showed us around a beautiful part of the city the next day, and has spent time and kept in touch with us every day since we’ve been here.
We met a group of friends our age that love the Lord and serve him in everything they do. These are friends that have looked out for us, given us rides, showed us the places to eat, explained the bus to us countless times, and walked us home even when they have to get up early for work the next morning.
Through this group of friends we’ve seen incredible sites in this city, attended a bible study with local and study abroad students, went to an evening gathering for improving English conversation (and worked on a little of our Spanish too), spent time with a youth group on fire for the Lord, connected with an old friend of our alumni squad leader, and spent time with kids and families in a neighborhood of little among a neighborhood of excess with our friend’s NGO.
The Lord did all of this in our first week in Buenos Aires.
The Lord did all of this through his church, through the family he has placed all over this planet.
We had no idea that in coming to Buenos Aires we would meet our sisters and brothers, be welcomed in with open arms, and be introduced to friends we know we will stay connected to for a long time – eternity.
We had no plans.
Our time in Buenos Aires will end on Sunday and we will move to Mendoza for our last half of the month. Somehow our days here have felt supernaturally long. Somehow we already know that as our bus drives away from this city, we will be leaving astounded at what the Lord has done here.
One of my absolute favorite things about the Race has been meeting the church, the body of Christ, everywhere we go. We’ve witnessed the divine encounters the Lord planned ages ago pan out before our eyes. Even still we feel him say “I have more still for you in this country!” We’re excited to see what that is, but right now we’re in the midst of a huge blessing and we’re taking in every moment of it that we can.
We ran into our family in Buenos Aires and we are going to miss them terribly.
We love ya fam!

Part of the way through our stay in Buenos Aires, we ended up having to change our lodging situation. Here’s a glimpse into how fantastic and caring our Argentine family is. They had us set up with a new place to stay within a few hours of us packing our bags.
We have experienced these friends live out Matthew 25: 34-40 and 3 John 1:5-8
If that’s not familia, I don’t know what is.
