Hi ๐
Normally, I’m not the type of person to share stuff like this, but I do have a prayer request that I’m thinking, if anyone can relate to this, it would be you (hopefully none of you do…because it kinda stinks).
Background:
My mom’s ENTIRE side of the family lives in the same small town (Population: 1,400). This includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, siblings…anyone who would be considered family, yep. all in our town.
All of my cousins grew up together – we’re best friends. We all go to the same church. We’ve played sports together, graduated together, work at a summer camp together…& everything else we can do… we’re together.
Needless to say, we’re pretty tight.
Prayer request:
My grandmama.
She’s getting older…and her health isn’t very good. She has undergone several surgeries just in the last 2-3 years. Things just aren’t looking great. She’s also not the most positive person – never has been.
When I signed up for the World Race, she was very much against it. In fact, she’s still very much against it, but just not directly to my face anymore (word travels quickly in our family).
Grandmama’s worried that when we say goodbye at the end of August, it will be our last time to see each other (which could very well be — even though I’m hoping and praying it won’t be).
I guess what I’m trying to say is… can you please pray for us? I get very discouraged when I hear from several of my aunts & cousins that Grandmama’s against this whole thing – to the point where I question if I should even be going. Also, just prayers in general for Grandmama & her health & her attitude toward the world race.
Thank you so much! I look forward to meeting you all in just a couple months!! ๐ ๐
in HIS love,
Samantha
