Hello everyone!
Recently I was challenged by a current World Racers blog entitled ‘ATL or STL’ (couldn’t find it again to put a link in). The blog challenged me to think, am I just ‘asking the Lord’ or am I ‘seeking the Lord.’
When college ended, I steped out of leadership and got so busy with things that I have felt really far from God. The blog really made me think, ‘ have I just been asking God to supply the funds and other needs I have for this trip or am I really seeking after HIM first and letting everything else fall into place.’
God is so much more than $14,000.
So, I responded to this challenge by opening up my Bible and spending some alone time with God. Just seeking him and not asking him about anything World Race related.
And guess what happened?
I checked the mail and got a $1,000 donation (my support raising is not going to well…). AND it has been such a headache to get the yellow fever vaccine. I’ve been trying for months to get it but everywhere seems to have a waiting list or they no longer provide the vaccine. The same day I got the donation in the mail I called the county Health Deptartment and they referred me to this travel clincic that just opened. I call this travel clinic and guess what? Not only do they have the vaccines I needed, but the woman & her husband who run the clinic were medical missionaries in Kenya for 20 years and they gave me a discount off my visit fee AND figured out a way to get me my malaria meds for free.
Wow.
seek the Lord first, and ask the Lord second 🙂
