Encephalitis Shot?

I talked to an immunization doctor today and she recommended that I get an Encephalitis shot, but it costs $900 and obviously I don’t have that kind of cash to throw around. She said the virus could be present in Malaysia and Cambodia. Did any of you get this shot or hear about it when getting immunizations? Let me know your thoughts! Thanks,
