Ok…so I have a really cool idea for a fundraiser.  Actually, it’s not my idea and I can’t really take credit…but I’m gonna share it with you anyhow Smile

I am currently a children’s pastor at an Assemblies of God church and our kiddos raise money for BGMC.  BGMC stands for Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge.  All the money raised goes towards Assembly of God missionaries all over the world.  They have a fundraiser that churches can do to raise a large chunk of money and I thought it would be a great one for anyone who has the time and whatnot to get it done.  I’m still debating if I want to attempt it! lol *maybe after graudation I’ll decide if I am Wink

They even have a manual that explains everything about how to do it…you would just pay no attention to the things that are specific for Assembly of God churches and would probably change the name since it is a national campaign they do.

Basically it works like this:  you spend a week atop a billboard, scissor lift, or roof of some sort.  You sleep in a tent and sleeping bag, which should be great practice!  There’s a lot of planning involved because you want people in your town to be aware that you up there and that you are raising money for missions!  The manual gives a lot of great ideas on how to prepare and what you need to start with.  There’s even a checklist of items to make sure you take up with you. I’ve seen churches raise anywhere from $3,000 to over $10,000!
