The WorldRace far exceeds touching the lives of just mere participants.  There are many faces that you haven’t seen that where a
crucial part of my WorldRace year.  I want to introduce you to a few of those faces; Scott and Carol Pitt’s; Chuck and Selena Day!

The Pitts and the Day’s had the pleasure and burden of being some of our team coaches during my entire world race year.  They met us many times out in the nations for our tri-monthly debriefs. They would sit for hours and listen to each of us process through the past three months since we saw them last.  They always came with loving hearts and hands full of candy from back home.  They helped us to make tough decisions and provided a much-needed outside perspective.  They didn’t always have the answers, but they always loved us and stood next us through the good and the bad.  That love was supernatural and covered all!  They shared our burdens and encouraged us every step of the way.

When our year ended they decided to forego coaching another team and committed to helping the June squad through “re-entry.”  I didn’t really know what that was going to look like.  But they said, “Our home is your home.  All we want to do is love you, encourage you and be there for you.”

There are few places I have been that feel like home. But since the WorldRace I have spent time with both the Pitts and the Day’s and it has always felt like home.  Two weeks ago I attended a WorldRace leadership meeting in Georgia where both the Pitts and the Day’s reside.  They overwhelmed me with their Love.  They fed/ housed me, loved me, and encouraged/supported me in every way!  They have done everything they said they would do and more.  They travel across the country to attend our weddings and always leave their door open for any racer that might come through Georgia.

When someone says,  “my house is your house,” it can sound like good courtesy sometimes.  When the Pitts and the Day’s say it they mean it!  Every time we leave they ask us to come and visit.  They have become like family.  They still sit and listen, love and encourage me every time I see them.

Scott, Carol, Chuck and Selena… Thank You!!
