In Martin Luther Kings I have a dream speech he said, “I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

 

This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

 

This will be the day when all of God’s children will be able to sing with a new meaning, “My country, ’tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim’s pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring
.”” (Martin Luther King)

 

Today I received an e-mail that was unsettling to me.
  In it was a link to CBS News.
  There it had information on a debate that’s going to take place between “Christians” and “Atheists” this Wed. the 9th.
  It’s called
“The Night Line Face off, Is God Real?”
 
As I watched the preview videos my heart sank and I wasn’t sure why.
  Can any good come from this? I’m sure.
  But as I watched I was reminded of many discussions I had when I was younger about my faith.
  Somehow the discussions became a debate more than anything else.
  The common words of love and compassion were no where to be found.
  Almost as if our heels were dug in holding onto pride, belief, or why we’re right.
  And all the while the point was missed.
  It’s not about being right or wrong, or even bad or good, but rather what IS and what IS NOT.
  The authors of the Bible were far less interested in proving the existence of God, but far more interested in discussing what God was like.
  So it is with me.
  

 

I fear that so many of us that talk so loosely about how well we know God in all honesty are struggling and are wanting more; I know I do at times and I will never stop wanting more!
  The good news is there is more, SO MUCH MORE!
  That God is a God that will exceedingly go beyond our own feeble expectations.
  I speak from my own testament that He has done so with me!

 

Like Dr. King I have a Dream. I dream that my generation will be the change we desire the world to be!
  Like an old vase that has sat in the corner collecting dust, I have been asleep collecting dust.
  And now I stand on firm ground shaking off the old dust, brand fresh and new, looking around awaken!
  I see a generation unlike the ones preceding it with unprecedented potential.
  I dream of a generation that will testify with their actions instead of JUST their words! I dream that a sleeping giant would be awakened, that the young sons and daughters of our nation will do the unthinkable so that Gods glory may be known.
  I dream of a generation that would take back the voice box of our nation known as the media.
  A voice box that has been defiled by lies such as, success, drama, and who’s with whom in Hollywood; that the value of significance will be restored vs. the value of success.
  I dream of a

generation that would loose themselves for the Glory of God.
  A generation filled with Martin Luther King’s.
  I dream of a generation that would press on despite persecution, resistance, and the fog of
segregation.
  I dream of a generation that would shake the hearts of those who sleep.
  For if you know Truth as a lie, then when Truth comes along you would not recognize Him.
  Truth has been made an alien in His own nation among His own people, and He has been called a lie.
  I dream of a generation that would be the answered prayers for those who seek more.

I dream of a generation filled with sons and daughters much like these daughters of China: CHINA- Teenagers Convert Thousands “The young women, ages 18 and 16, told how they left home.”
  “The Lord just gave us the word and the faith to declare what Jesus can do,” one told him.
 In the last week of their lives more than 10,000 people received Christ in one costal city, where the two used microphones to preach at open air meetings.
  Despite the increasing reports of miraculous signs and wonders, none of the leaders of the church movement that Clark met with claimed any titles for themselves. “One evangelist said, ‘No, we don’t think like that. We’re all just brothers and sisters.'”

My dream is my prayer!

Passage Philippians 4:4-8:

4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.
