My Father e-mailed this to me the other day. It rocked me and reminded me!

“When a soldier comes home, he finds it hard…to listen
to his son whine about being bored….to keep a straight face when people
complain about potholes….to be tolerant of people who complain about the hassle
of getting ready for work.  To be
understanding when a co-worker complains about a bad night’s sleep.  To be silent when people pray to God
for a new car.  To control his
panic when his wife tells him he needs to drive slower.  To be compassionate when a businessman
expresses a fear of flying.  To
keep from laughing when anxious parents say they’re afraid to send their kids
off to summer camp.  To keep from
ridiculing someone who complains about hot weather.  To control his frustration when a colleague gripes about his
coffee being cold.  To remain calm
when his daughter complains about having to walk the dog.  To be civil to people who complain
about their jobs.  To just walk
away when someone says they only get two weeks of vacation a year.  To be forgiving when someone says how
hard it is to have a new baby in the house.  The only thing harder than being a Soldier…
Is loving one.  ”

So what’s the point?
I propose; perspective or awareness.

Are you a bad person because you may have complained or do
at times?  NO! Personally I’m not
above reproach on this either.

However, something in me has always known that complaining was immature or rooted in a lack of awareness.! I’ve heard it said. “Complaining
is to the Devil what praise is to God”
or “Complaining proves nothing but that you can hear the voice of the
Devil.”-Bill Johnson

It seems to me that complaining functions as the womb to
birth entitlement, selfishness, anger, pride, ill-patience among many other
things, but more importantly a very unrealistic point of view! At times we take
a passive aggressive form to complaining by  joking around with our complaints.  But complaining just might give birth to every evil known to
man! I know that may sound extreme but think about it! It leads to bitterness, hate, murder… think about all the crazy stuff that happens within our own country- where does it start?

I’m not a soldier, but the more I’ve seen the world the less
I complain!  Or even want to
complain!! Seeing others pain, or experiencing my own, has helped to facilitate
a sober perspective! I hope it continues!
Truth is I have nothing to complain about and everything to be thankful
for!!
For every complaint that ever escaped my mouth, I wish I could take you back, I feel like I was tricked!!!

Thanks Dad for the reminder!!
