I want to introduce you to Keyla Prom.  He’s a monk in Cambodia.  I met him over a year ago while I was doing “ministry” in the town of Siem Reap. I taught English to Keyla and about 10 other monks at his temple.

Keyla Prom is my friend.

We talk almost every week by e-mail.  I’ve helped support Keyla financially through college for a number of months now.  He reads all my blogs and knows my heart for God.

The truth is he is poor!  But he is by far one of the most intelligent people I’ve met.  He spends all his time studying and applying himself.  He’s optimistic and does the best he can with what little he has.  As a friend he asked for my help.

For me it was a simple choice to support him.  He was someone in need and I had the means to help.  Didn’t matter if he was a Christian or not.  I choose to invest in him because I love him and if $50 would help put him through college it was worth it.

Unfortunately, I wrote Keyla recently and told him that I’m not able to support him anymore due to the fact that I’m on support myself.  However ,I told him I have a lot of friends that follow my life through the internet.  I said, “I’ll write a blog about you and maybe someone will want to help you.  I can’t promise you anything, but I will tell your story.”

He said, “Dear Sean Smith!
I am so happy when I heard you said like that.  Because I will pay the school fee in this month. So,for me i thank you very much for your charity and kindness to support me all time also.  Anyway,i think you are very happy with your studies and travel to Spain also.
So,i hope you will be good in your new life when you are living in Spain now.
Thank you!

Sincerely, your friend Keyla Prom.
If anyone feels led to support my friend please message me and I will send you the details.  $50 dollars a month will put him through college.  It’s a very simple and easy process.
