Love is patient, love is kind
It does not envy, It does not boast,
It is not proud. It is not rude,
It is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered
It keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7

These are all things that we strive for, or at least try to strive for.
Living each day for God’s glory and trying to find his will for your life is something that God is calling us to do.
It is something that makes us different from the rest of the world. His love and grace that he so freely gives us sets us apart from all others, it makes us shine brighter than others.

There are very few people in my life that I can truly say that they live out those verses from 1 Corinthians about love.
Only a handful of people that edify all that is Godly love.

One of these people was Bill Bailey.

This incredible man of God was a beacon of light in my church back home in Memphis, TN.
He knew everyone in our church by name and everything about them. He always had a huge smile on his face and loved giving hugs to everyone he passed by. He was the exact picture of heaven on earth.

Everyone who met him could tell there was something different about him, something that came from God.
I found out today that Mr. Bailey passed away a few days ago. I am so sad to know that his family and friends are without his loving presence now, but I know that he had lived a great life full of
love, laughter, compassion, integrity, and generosity.

My challenge to all of you is to strive to live your life the way Mr. Bailey did.
Of course he was not perfect and he still struggled with the same sorts of things
that all of us do at one point or another. The difference is the fact that this man
loved the Lord so much that God’s love and mercy exuded from the very pores of his skin.
Everyone who knew him or even just met him once felt his compassion for
others and were blessed to just be around Mr. Bailey.

He truly lived by the mantra of:
“There are no strangers in my life, only friends I have not met yet.”
