¡Hola!

¡Bienvenidos a Peru!
(Welcome to Peru)

Sooo I am currently sitting in lovely stone building in  Iquitos, Peru….absolutely drenched in sweat.  Just in case you were curious, Peru is not known for its Air Conditioning or cold weather 🙂 I have been here with my Real Life Team for around 5 days almost now and I absolutely love it!! It is so beautiful here and the people are so welcoming and hospitable.  Plus we have been staying about 20 mins from the Amazon River soo that kinda cool 🙂

So far we have been doing prision ministry in the morning (splitting up girls and guys) and then going to different churchs / schools to share testimonies or preach at night.   We had an amazing time at a local church this morning and I left feeling so encouraged and upliftted.  They are truely on fire for the Lord down here. My team continues to surprise me every day with how much they are ¨buying in¨ to the whole process of serving God in missions overseas.  They are truely giving their all in everything we do and are really learning the value of flexibility and vulnerability.  My coleader and I have been so absolutely honored to be their leaders and have the chance to pour into their lives as they do God´s work.   The team consists of 19 college students so they are all working through finding their identiy in God and learning who HE has made them to be.  It is a crazy time in their lives but I love being a part of it.  I love that I have 10 college girls on my team that I can help lead and empower into living more closely with God.  I am learning just as much from them, if not more, as they are from me.  I pray that they continue to seek God´s face and direction every day we are down here and everyday after that.  I look forward to seeing the ways God challenges them and changes them for his GLORY over the next couple of months.

Tomorrow we leave for a small village in the Amazon Jungle, which will take us 1.5 days to get to by BOAT!! YAY…I can´t wait to sleep in my hammock under the beauty of God´s night sky and float down the Amazon RIver!!  Sometimes I can´t believe how lucky I am to serve a God like him and to have the opportunity to see so much of his amazing creation all over the world.  We will be traveling from village to village in the Jungle until the end of July, so we will be completely out of contact with the outside world (sorry mom) I promise to write more blogs and post pictures once we have access to the internet again.

Please be praying for the safety and health of our team as well as the translators that are traveling with us.  Please pray for the growth and an increase in faith in all of us.  We will be traveling into some areas where we will face some pretty crazy spiritual warfare…so pray that God gives us strength and peace of mind as we take on these things.  I know the devil is going to try and pull us apart and bring disunity to our team, as well as trying to tear us as individuals down.  Pray that we are able to fight against the lies of the devil and that God´s light and truth are the things we cling to through out our days and nights.

Thank  you all for your support and I can´t wait to share more with you when I get the chance!!
Blessings to you all!!
