This month we have found ourselves in a much different
culture in Romania. The people here are
much more like Americans in their desires and persuits although with that said
we have found it difficult to really communicate with many here. We were lucky enough to meet a group of
teenagers the first week we arrived in the city of Targu Mures. This group was not much different than many
you can find in video game stores or malls in the US. They have become involved in alcohol, cigarettes,
drugs and various other typical teenage endeavors. The leader of this group is a young man by the
name of Sake who speaks English fluently as well as Romanian and
Hungarian. The day we met this group
Sake shared with us that he had not slept the night before as he stayed up all
night drinking and smoking while surfing the internet. Sake has let me into his world as we have
shared interests in music and sports and I am really going to miss him. He has shared with me on several occasions
that he knows he needs to stop smoking and drinking but he hasn’t yet been able
to let them go.

Last Saturday Sake took us by surprise by joining us for a
church service. During the sermon the
normal translator had to leave at which point the pastor asked Sake if he
wouldn’t mind translating into English.
Sake did so reluctantly but as the message continued his confidence
began to grow. As we walked out of the
service at it’s conclusion I overheard Sake mentioning to one of my other AIM
teammates that maybe some day he could become a pastor. I pray that Sake will find God and He will
give him the strength to walk the straight and narrow.
I hope that the details of a few of the honorable young men
I have met so far on the World Race is as much as inspiration to you as it has
been to me. It has been my pleasure
meeting these three boys and watching them become the men that God is calling
them to be.
I hope that you will help me continue my journey. I am in desparate need of $2,400 to move on
to Israel. I know that God has other
young men for me to meet and impact on this Race but I need your help to stay
out in the mission field. Please forward
this message on to anyone who you think may be called to support me in the
mission field. Tax deductible donations
can me made online to AIM by clicking on the following link

your generous support and for following me along on my journey for God.
