If you have ever been out of the United States you know how hard it can be to find Wi-Fi and then when you do find it you just have to use it! You sit down and ignore the people around you while you gaze at the screen of your phone or computer. As you look on social media you realize all of the things that you are missing back home and you start to miss out on the people and things that are right next to you. Being present in 2 different places is impossible, yet we still try. By trying to be present in 2 different places it is really making it so you’re not present in either place.

Instead of thinking of Wi-Fi as Internet why don’t we think of it a little differently? Where Is Fellowship Important? Where in your life are you willing to try and unplug from something unhealthy and plug into true fellowship?

Fellowship is so important in order for you to grow deeper with God. If you aren’t able to grow in fellowship with the people around you, you won’t be able to grow in a fellowship with God. God wants us to have fellowship with Him, but we get too distracted by the things that give us satisfaction in the moment.  We have trouble waiting and seeing the bigger and better picture that God has in mind for us. He wants us to have true fellowship with the communities around us so that we are able connect and hear God’s voice more!

One thing that I have learned as I have gone on each of my mission trips or traveled to another country is that I hear God more clearly when away from my normal familiar setting and in a different way each place I am.  All the times I went to Mexico I loved being at the orphanage and hearing God through the kids and people living there.  That was the way God and I had fellowship.  When I was in Israel, as I walked in the place Jesus walked and spent time in the Word and enjoying the culture there, God spoke to me in a still, quiet voice.  “Come see all I have for you”.  In the Philippines I heard him most clearly when I would make sure to quiet my heart and listen to his voice in the middle of the chaos.  Now that I am in Thailand I am still seeking to grow in my fellowship with Him and the people I am with or come in contact with.  Each place is different, but the fellowship that I have with God is always increasing.  The people I am with (my team, my squad) and those that I meet along the way are part of God’s plan for teaching me more about Him and my relationship with Him and others.  So I will ask again – Where is Fellowship important In your life?
