These past weeks I have learned a lot about rest and the importance of rest. Finding a place of rest has been really difficult for me. I would always put other people before myself and by the end I would be tired and not able to do what I need. When I was back home I was able to find those places of rest even after helping people. When my dad walked out on my family I had to step up and be something I shouldn’t have had to be at that time. Through this time I would become exhausted but I could still find rest.
Being on the World Race is a different story. I have been trying to help all the people around me and haven’t been paying any attention to myself. Because of this it has made me really exhausted and not able to do everything I am suppose to do. I haven’t been able to find true rest in the Lord. The past few weeks I have been trying to really press into what it looks like to rest fully in the Lord. This isn’t an easy task to do when you are on the mission field and see so much that needs to be done. But if I’m not finding rest then I won’t be able to help anyone. One thing that the Lord has really shown me lately is how to fully trust Him. Part of that trust is not trying to do everything on my own strength but to rest in Him and He will give me my strength.
In Genesis when God is creating the world, He created everything and then when He was done creating the world He created man and woman. Then the next day, God rested. So this means that the first day that man and woman had on earth was a day of rest. I have never really thought about it this way. God wants us to take rest first so we can further His Kingdom more. So now every night when I go to bed, I pray that my night is the beginning of a new day. I thank God that he has allowed me to start my day with rest and when I wake up I am able to fully press into what God has for me for the day.
What I am learning on the World Race is so valuable to my walk with God and the person He is growing me to become. It may be challenging at times, but the life lessons that I am learning will last me a life time. I am blessed to be on this mission! Please continue to lift my team, my squad and me up in prayer. Thank you to all of you who have supported me so far on this amazing mission. If you are able to support me more or if you haven’t supported me yet, but find you are able now that would be a huge help. Another way you can help is by spreading the word and sharing my blog with other people you might know. I have met my next goal (which was $11,000), but still have a ways to go to make it to my final goal ($16,250). If it is broken down into monthly amounts I would need 25 monthly donors at $25 each or 13 monthly donors at $50 each. This would truly be a blessing! I want to be fully funded soon, so that I can only focus on ministry and not funding. Thanks for your prayers! I appreciate each of you and pray that God blesses you for your prayers & support! I couldn’t do this without God & you!
Next month (April) our team will be going to Vietnam and we wont really have access to wi-fi so I won’t be posting here or on Facebook. If you want to get an update on how things are going while I am in Vietnam send me an email at [email protected] and I will try my best to respond. Stay tuned in May for more exciting news on what happened. God Bless and thanks again for all the support!!
